Excercising! sooo exciting

A week full of progress and few surprises!

I'm five months old after all... in hindsight, it all makes sense!

First the solids! Then, my new crib.....oh la la...

Move over co-sleeper, come along teddy and blankie...Crib is coming to town!

Well.... I have progressed leaps and bounds in my sleeping style...Teddy is my new partner in crime! I swear I think that my mother hovers over us while we are napping.  I can hear her tiptoeing to grab a peak at me even though she thinks she is slick!

Daddy was so impressed by my improved sleep habits that he wanted me to have the best possible pad to chill in! It may also have something to do with me thrashing around in my co-sleeper, making it a bit of a risky place for my adventurous soul.  So, out with the co-sleeper and in with the crib!

On the eating front as you know, I started eating solids now, and I'm LOVING it! I want more of the rice cereal....its yummy! Can't wait for more new stuff to try. 

 I needed to be held down at Dr Mirantes's office since I was not gonna let them give me another..s.h.o.t!!

Daddy got me and mommy beautiful iris's on Valentines Day...I was surprised how much I loved the purple color

We also went to my friend's birthday party...all these babies! But I like the company of mature adults like my Vinod mama.

What's hot this week:  my new crib, rice cereal, thrashing around on the mat to gather together as many toys as possible, banging on my animal farm mat

What's not so hot:  icky gums

This was an interesting find...very unusual but my gym edge does the job when my gums are scratchy!

Adventure that it was! Solids. ..whats that?

So mommy and daddy decided to surprise me with a taste of solid foods on my fifth month birthday!  For the last few weeks, I had been dropping hints that I maybe ready to start soon such as staring at mom and dad when they eat anything (wink wink).

So I wore my adventurer outfit and got all set to go on my new throne.

I started to have cold feet and I wasn't sure that my parents knew what they were doing!! They almost forgot to put a bib on me! 

Then, I figured what's the worst that could happen? I may have to spit it out... But to the contrary, I actually liked it!!!

And mommy thought I was even ready to eat by myself..ha!

This weeks headline.. Sleep boot camp over! Mubarak out!

Sleep boot camp is finallly over!  And since I have made so much progress, mommy and daddy took me out for a special treat in my grown up stroller.

Daddy wanted to take me to the playground, but still so much snow so we had to abort that plan!

We walked over to the farmers market where daddy showed me what is mommy's favorite fruit (apples) are.

Plan B was to check out the petting zoo. I got to see live animals that I had previously only read about in my animal farm book. I was super excited, but I think my dad was even more excited!

Baby birds even smaller (way smaller) then me...

Favorite games: Creeping and rolling over to get my toys, the phone on excersaucer, looking in the mirror, looking out the window, reaching for stuff under the television, chewing on gym edge or anything soft.

Things of the past: my first sleep sack, the sling. 

Milk? From daddy? From a bottle?

This is new...... Daddy held me the other day and I thought it was going to be play time, but instead he brought a contraption that I haven't used, something called a bottle.  And to my surprise, it was filled with my milk!! How is that possible? My milk, but daddy has it, and I am getting it from a contraption that is so different from my usual source. It's a bit strange I must say, but it's kinda fun too since daddy and I get to talk about sports while I am eating...male bonding you know.

Now I understand what cousin Olivia told me! Why settle for anything suboptimal when you can have milk straight the from source..aka mommy? 

another cold week..! how does spring feel like?

This certainly has been an interesting week! Mommy decided no more games...we MUST get things in order before she goes back to work. Hence, no more crazy fun outings, no more snoozing on the go, and hear this: no more sling! I was very skeptical in the beginning, thinking that mommy would go stir crazy at home and would quickly put an end to this crazy mission of hers. 

Well the good news for me was that I had her FULL attention and MORE!! . Also, since mommy was bored at home, she convinced dad to come early from work..so double goodness for me!

I needed to make sure that mommy knew what she was talking about! Do I really need to nap and sleep that much at night?? I analyzed her book to be sure....

Okay mommy may have a point so I agreed with the plan. What was there to lose??  After all, I played with my toys a lot this week and rolled over and over again and again!

This is my favorite toy these days besides my hand..I like that it looks like a car!

I stil revisit my old favorite rainforest every now and then.

I love to bang on the animals on the wall in my room when assisted by my daddy

I showed my exciting stuff in my gym to mommy and daddy. I am willing to share as you can see.

To my disadvantage, mommy figured out how tickly I am. Oh well..there she goes again!!

All this isn't that bad, considering all the kisses I am getting these days. Well, Mommy survived it and she is not complaining about staying home either. I guess it must be my magic.

And actually my zzzz ( sight for sore eyes for my folks!)...and I love getting all the applause and attention when I wake up after my naps.

Another storm...another week!

I hear it has been a crazy winter .. so much snow! What do I know? This could be how it is supposed to be.  I am just glad I don't need to shovel any!!

Besides the snow, my highlights for this week include me having a better view when I'm in my bjorn.  I now can face outward!! We should have done that long time ago!

I convinced mom that I needed a good massage for my achy arms and legs. So much rolling over can do that to a little baby like me!

All my stuff is taking over the living room.  Its official! It's all about me in this household. I love this mat so I can roll around freely.

My play gym may be ancient history soon..

Speaking of which, I hung out with my cousins Olivia and Alec last Sunday for grandpa and grandma's wedding anniversary. Grandpa mentioned how he first came to know of my future arrival last year on this day.....

I even got to play with Tio Fito's hair...
